Musician rings

Perfect for music lovers, these musician rings are crafted from strings of musical instruments. As they’re played, strings go false and require replacement. Rather than waste them, I make jewelry.

I source strings from a variety of string instruments, including violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, zither, and harp.. They vary widely in color, thickness, and material, ensuring each handmade ring is unique.

My rings are repurposed and upcycled, removing them from the waste stream and creating unique, handmade jewelry instead. I carefully wind each string into a band of the correct size, then secure the two ends in place using wire. This wire wrap is functional as well as decorative; it serves to strengthen the ring as well as add a visual accent. I then secure the wire and string ends in place with clear glue to reduce the risk of it unwinding with wear.

Customers have the option to choose the band thickness and wire wrap color (silver tone, copper tone, or gold tone). I also take custom orders for specific combinations; for example, a medium black ring with a green wire wrap. I’ve also made matching sets of my musician rings, and one customer requested a two-color wrap in red and gold.
