I designed this custom spin minder for my local fiber spinning group, which is part of the Carmel Crafts Guild. One of the members suggested that I add some designs to my product catalog, so I chose to make one featuring our guild’s logo.

The spin minder features a tapered slot to grab on to spun fiber in progress. This prevents the twist from traveling further down the fiber when a spinner needs to set their work aside temporarily. The current angle of the taper works best for thicker spins. I may design a different version with a narrower slot for spinners that prefer making thinner yarns.

It also has a small hole built in for a string or piece of yarn to tether it to the spinner’s orifice hook. Attaching it to the hook keeps it close at hand and ready to use whenever it’s needed.
