Medal display plaques

Inspiration

I was inspired to design these medal display plaques after seeing the modular Honeycomb Medal Holders offered by The Conqueror Challenge. I’ve been collecting medals through their various challenges for a few years now, and wanted a way to display them. Rather than buy them at nearly $20 apiece, though, I decided to design my own to 3D print.

My own spin on the design

I didn’t care for the two-piece plaques available; I preferred the clean look of a solid, flat face behind my medals. So, I designed my plaque to be a single piece with no moving parts, magnets, or threads. The inside is hollow, to give me room to fold and tie up the medal’s ribbon and still have the plaque sit flush against the wall.

I also dislike putting holes in my walls and prefer using Command Strips instead. The hook-and-loop attachment of the picture hanging strips allows me to rearrange my plaques without damaging my walls, too.

The last change I made to the design was to add more slots for the ribbon, to bring it across the plaque horizontally. This lets me show off not just the medal, but its matching ribbon, too.

I have my medal display plaques available for sale in a variety of colors and sizes, to suit all medals and tastes.
