I created this series of promotional buck slips for Dynamic Press to send to customers as coupons for future printing orders. They inserted them into invoices and other mailers, providing existing customers with an incentive to return for more printing.

Choosing themes

To keep the buck slips looking current, I frequently updated the visual theme to match upcoming holidays and seasons. I also replaced the circular motif on the left with a heart for the Valentine’s Day buck slips.

Each slip used public domain imagery, or stock images that Dynamic Press was licensed to use commercially. I developed a template to allow me to quickly swap out images as needed based on locally relevant topics and events.

Showcasing printing capabilities

Since Dynamic Press is a print shop, any promotional materials must showcase their design and printing capabilities. To do this, I selected vibrant, eye-catching colors and used vector graphics for crisp, clean edges in the design files. For several designs, I used the color palette of the rest of the design to create a gradient inside the text for the savings message. This was a subtle but effective way to reinforce Dynamic Press’s ability to print a wide color range true to each brand’s color palette.

Each buck slip was imposed to fit several on a sheet of heavy-weight coated stock, then cut down to size.
