Only 39 of the 250 GTO were ever made, placing it among the rare and beautiful sports cars of its day. Due to its rarity, the 250 GTO has been reproduced on more modern Ferrari chassis, not all of which are true to the original car. A good example of how rare these are is how a particular 1962 specimen was sold for a record total of $35 million in May of 2012.
